BIO

Jonas Martin brings more than three decades of hands-on experience in real estate development, sales, and business transactions to his role with American Business Brokers in Fort Myers. A third-generation Broker and developer, his foundation was shaped early by his grandmother Olive Louise Martin, one of Canada’s pioneering female realtors (as one of the first female Realtors in Canada / started in 1952), his father Ross (a builder, and broker), and his mother Joy (a designer and realtor). Growing up immersed in conversations about building, design, financing, and sales gave him a practical understanding of the full lifecycle of property and business assets.

Jonas began his career in 1988 as an Assistant Framer with Flower City Homes in Victoria, British Columbia. By 1992 he had advanced to Sales Manager and achieved a standout result of selling 32 units in 30 days. In 1995 he founded Century Development Inc. in St. Catharines, Ontario, serving as Owner and Project Manager. There he managed every phase of the development process; cost estimation, re-zoning, construction oversight, rentals, sales, and municipal approvals.

Licensed as a Broker since 2003, Jonas built a reputation for deep market knowledge, practical execution, and client-focused service. He mentored new agents, consistently ranked among top performers, and contributed to innovative financing solutions, including supporting a client relationship that helped pioneer one of Scotiabank’s early no-money-down mortgage programs.

Today in Florida, Jonas focuses on business brokerage. He has guided multiple business owners through successful sales and understands the practical realities sellers face when preparing, marketing, and closing a transaction. Having personally completed the E-2 Treaty Investor process to relocate and establish himself in Florida, he brings firsthand insight that is especially valuable to international buyers, particularly Canadians and other treaty-country investors, who are acquiring U.S. businesses and moving their families and operations to the United States.

Jonas combines generational expertise with current market knowledge and direct experience on both sides of the business-sale table. His approach is to educate clients with: clear communication, realistic valuation, and steady guidance from first conversation through closing.
